Requirements for admission to this program?Admission into the program requires filling out an application and providing documents to support Florida residency. Additionally, those students wanting to earn an AS degree in Early Childhood education must take note of the information below: (a) Applicants who started high school in the 9th grade in 2003 or after at a Florida Public high school AND graduated from a Florida Public High School with a standard high school diploma are not required to take the placement test. If you have questions about your exemption status, please contact an academic advisor. (b) Those students that have successfully completed a college level English and/or Math course will not be required to take the placement test. All other students will be required to take the PERT (Postsecondary Education Readiness Test) Placement Test. FOR NON-DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS: (1.) Register with the college. You can do so at this link: www.daytonastate.edu (2.) Click on the “apply now” link. (3.) If you do not have an account, click on the “create a new account.” Please indicate which semester you intend to take the class…(Fall) (4.) As you complete the application, please make the following choices: “Career” of “College Credit” (doesn’t matter which campus you choose) “Plan” of “Special Credit – Test Exempt for non-degree seeking student” (5.) Make sure you finalize your application. If you do not finalize it, I won’t be able to locate your name in the system. (6.) Once you submit the application, your next step is the residency documentation. You need to fill out the entire 4 page form attached to this email. (7.) You must also provide a copy of your driver’s license and either a copy of your car or voter registration. You can either scan them to me or take pictures of each document and send it directly to my email at Catherine.Twyman@daytonastate.edu (8.) All of these items must be submitted to me completed, and in just one email.
